Worksheets for next week are attached to my weekly update email. Please print and make sure your student has them ready for the week.
Textbook Exchange
We will be exchanging our textbooks on Thursday, February 25- Friday, February 26. I will leave a bin out in front of the school with an envelope of materials that also contains their new books. You may come any time to pick up the materials and drop off their current textbook. I ask that you put your students name on a sticky note on their current textbook and place it in the bin with the envelopes. I will pull the bin inside the school by Friday at 3pm, so please make sure you exchange the book before then. If you need to make other arrangements, please let me know.
New Online Reading Library Opportunity
Students now have access to a new online reading library called reading IQ. . It is free and all you have to do is create an account for your student. To signup for your free account, go to https://www.readingiq.com

Phonics/Phonemic Awareness: compound words
Comprehension: Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details
Grammar: prepositions
Spelling words: bedtime, sunset, bathtub, sailboat, flagpole, backpack, playpen, raincoat, inside, himself
FRY words- first, look said, were, when
Vocabulary: meadow, calf, wade, rippled, flooded, swarm
Next Week In Math
Next week we will continue to practice the Make a Ten strategy. This strategy is useful when one addend is 7, 8, or 9 and no other strategy applies. For example, 7+4 can become 10+1 by decomposing the 4 into 3 and 1.
Homework
Monday- Put spelling and FRY words in ABC order
Tuesday- Math Problem
Wednesday- Read, Rabbit's Tale
Thursday- Math Problem
Students should read a minimum of 20 minutes each evening.
